Job Summary
General Manager position at Fleet Farm leading and inspiring store teams across multiple locations. Focus on driving operational excellence, profitability, and an exceptional customer experience by managing all aspects of a retail store operation, including staffing, product assortment, inventory, wage and expense control, and adherence to policies. Responsible for firearms disposition, acquisition, sales, and recordkeeping, and for driving top-line and same-store sales through superior merchandising and customer loyalty initiatives. Requires 5+ years of Big Box management, a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), willingness to travel up to 75%, ability to relocate, and strong leadership, communication, and data-driven decision-making abilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- A minimum of 5+ years of Big Box management experience
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong understanding of retail operations, logistics, compliance, and merchandising
- Ability to travel frequently (up to 75%, including some nights/weekends)
- Ability to pass State and Federal background checks (Federal Firearm Licensing)
- Must be willing and able to relocate as needed to support business needs and career growth opportunities
