Job Summary
General Manager leads and inspires store teams across multiple Fleet Farm locations, driving operational excellence and exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities include recruiting, coaching and developing staff, managing in-store product assortment and inventory, analyzing margins and profitability, driving top-line and comp sales, enforcing customer service standards, and ensuring compliance with safety, loss prevention, and firearm-handling policies. The role requires strategic leadership, strong communication, merchandising and budgeting skills, and a track record of developing high-performing teams. Key duties include workforce planning, wage/expense control, and implementing development plans; travel up to 75% and relocation as needed. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), 5+ years of big-box retail management, and ability to pass background checks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of Big Box management experience
- Ability to travel frequently (up to 75%, including some nights/weekends)
- Ability to pass State and Federal background checks (Federal Firearm Licensing)
- Must be willing and able to relocate as needed to support business needs and career growth opportunities.
