Job Summary
Hands-on General Manager to lead daily operations in a Richmond, VA yard and office, overseeing operations, sales, and support functions; drive pricing, quoting, and key customer relationships; lead department managers and promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement; resolve day-to-day challenges and maintain a safe, efficient work environment; oversee safety performance in coordination with the Operations Manager; represent the company at community, customer, and industry events; assist ownership with long-term planning and capital purchase reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Background in aggregates, recycling, quarry, or heavy construction operations
- Proven ability to lead multiple departments and manage people effectively
- Understanding of equipment, production, and operational cost control
- Hands-on leadership style with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable balancing time between the yard, office, and customer visits
