Job Summary
General Manager for a Calgary-based residential home builder overseeing day-to-day and long-term operations across construction, sales, customer experience, and corporate functions. Responsible for delivering projects on time and on budget, leading Construction Managers, Site Superintendents, and field operations; aligning estimating, design, warranty, and accounting with market demand; driving P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and profitability; building client and stakeholder relationships; driving process improvements, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture. Requires 10+ years in residential construction or related field, strong operations and financial acumen, and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within residential home building or a related construction environment
- Senior operational leadership experience at the GM/Director/VP level preferred
- Strong understanding of construction operations, project management, site execution
- Solid financial acumen including P&L oversight, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Experience overseeing cross-functional teams in field and office settings
- Proven ability to improve systems, processes, and operational efficiency
- Tech-savvy with openness to adopting new tools and platforms
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strategic and tactical execution
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a client-first approach
