Job Summary
General Manager at Excel Fitness (Planet Fitness brand) leading Club Operations. Responsibilities include mentoring and developing Team Players, guiding the Assistant Manager in member attraction and retention, ensuring proficiency with Planet Fitness mobile app, tablet, and POS systems; maintaining certifications, trainings, marketing plans, and operational updates; leveraging Team Performance Tracker and KPI metrics; managing the club budget and profitability; supervising and inspiring staff, identifying training needs, conducting audits to meet Excel standards, coaching through performance management, overseeing hiring processes, and coordinating with RM/Sr GM/HR. Additional duties include daily club walkthroughs, policy communications, managing work orders with Facilities, supporting remodels/new builds, overseeing equipment installations, planning community events, inventory management, preparing for future GM roles, authorizing expenditures and refunds, and ensuring coverage across shifts. Exempt, full-time position with standard hours Monday-Friday on-site, with potential weekend/overnight shifts to maintain club operations. Requires leadership ability, strong communication, organizational skills, and proficiency with Excel, Word, DataTrak, Workday, Service Channel, and related applications.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent required
- CPR/AED certification required
- At least six (6) months of equivalent management experience required
