Job Summary
Conduct daily ATOM meetings with sales teams to track prospecting calls and forecast monthly hotel financial positions by estimating revenues and expenses. Tour operating departments daily to make adjustments, inspect rooms weekly with housekeeping and engineering, and maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming. Lead weekly staff meetings with training sessions, manage management trainees, and perform all department manager performance appraisals and hiring interviews per company SOPs. Forecast monthly financial data, conduct bi-monthly credit meetings, and ensure compliance with Avion Hospitality standards for safety, budgeting, and service delivery. Work a typical 50-hour week with variable scheduling as needed.
Required Qualifications
- At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
- 4-year college degree and at least 4 to 5 years of related experience
- 2-year college degree and at least 5 to 6 years of related experience
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems
- Proficiency in Company approved spreadsheets
- Proficiency in word processing
- Valid driver's license for the applicable state
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Ability to work well in stressful, high pressure situations
- Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Ability to be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary

- Ability to conduct a daily ATOM meeting focusing on the number of prospecting and existing account calls each person will make and the potential business results of these calls
- Ability to play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts, including calling on top ten accounts, meeting clients, hosting luncheons and receptions, and meeting with on-site contacts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Ability to tour the operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads
- Ability to conduct weekly staff meetings, including weekly training sessions presented by managers and self using the steps to effective training according to Avion Hospitality's standards, and the review of previous and future sales and operations efforts
- Ability to meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion
- Ability to hold a monthly financial review with all department managers and available supervisors
- Ability to ensure that all department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and Avion Hospitality's standard checkbook accounting procedures
- Ability to develop managers for future advancement through competency training and corporate sponsored training programs
- Ability to participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
- Ability to maintain direct contact with and monitor the development of management trainees
- Ability to adhere to all Avion Hospitality policies and procedures and train new managers to ensure compliance
- Ability to oversee and assist in the company budget process as required
- Ability to ensure that training in service standards is taking place in each department using the steps to effective training according to Avion Hospitality standards
- Ability to assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment which focuses on the guest, through employee development and motivation
- Ability to inspect rooms regularly (weekly at a minimum) with both the Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer
- Ability to ensure complete processing of invoices daily by using the A/P process
- Ability to ensure that all appropriate information for financial documents is received by the Corporate Office monthly, in compliance with the monthly accounting calendar
- Ability to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property through inspections and preventive maintenance programs with department managers
- Ability to ensure that employees are at all times attentive, friendly, courteous and efficient in their interactions with guests, managers and all other employees
- Ability to forecast monthly the hotel's financial position, by estimating revenues and line-by-line expenses
- Ability to analyze previous and projected data to generate an accurate reforecast
- Ability to prepare and conduct all management interviews and follow hiring procedures according to Avion Hospitality S.O.P.'s
- Ability to ensure that all managers are in compliance with the standards in their interviewing and hiring procedures for departmental staff
- Ability to interview all prospective final candidates for any vacant position within the hotel prior to any offer being extended
- Ability to perform all department manager performance appraisals according to Avion Hospitality S.O.P.'s
- Ability to ensure that managers are in compliance with the standards in their administration of performance appraisals to their staff
- Ability to motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all management personnel according to Avion Hospitality S.O.P.'s
- Ability to ensure that managers are in compliance with the standards in their administration of counseling and disciplinary steps
- Ability to maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees and other departments
- Ability to ensure that all employees receive fair and equitable treatment according to Avion Hospitality S.O.P.'s
- Ability to meet all sales clients on the property, including meeting contacts and potential clients touring the property, to assist in the sales effort
- Ability to be in the public areas during peak times, greeting guests and offering assistance as needed
- Ability to maintain procedures for handling of the hotel safe specifically with regard to security and initiate a monthly safe audit
- Ability to conduct bi-monthly credit meetings and take an active role in the hotel credit and collection policies
- Ability to complete required corporate training modules, and become certified to train those as required
- Ability to ensure that all scheduled meetings take place on the property
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 20 pounds of force occasionally
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly
- Must be able to work long hours
- Must be able to work a 50 hour work week
- Must be able to maintain regular attendance in compliance with Avion Hospitality standards
