Job Summary
As a General Maintenance Worker, you will monitor and repair facilities, providing exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff. Key responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance on appliances, troubleshooting and repairing kitchen equipment, and executing various repairs including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks. You will maintain an inventory of appliance parts, assist in roof repairs, patch and paint walls, and ensure safety compliance. Specialized or technical training is required, alongside 6 to 12 months of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Specialized or technical training
- 6 – 12 months of experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Valid CA driver's license
- Knowledge of thermodynamic laws, refrigerator cycles, electricity principles, test/detection instruments, hand/power tools, AC/DC currents, wood finishing, wiring, painting, construction, and plumbing
Desired Qualifications
- 2 – 3 years of experience in appliance repair, plumbing, HVAC, outlet repair, and/or electrical
- HVAC certification
- Experience supporting a hospitality/restaurant/retail department
- Experience troubleshooting and performing basic repairs (i.e. carpentry) and painting maintenance
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to train students, temporary, and/or resource workers

- Clean DMV record required
