Job Summary
Performs a variety of general maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspection, servicing, repair, overhaul and construction duties in hospital buildings and grounds. Builds and maintains hospital systems across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, sheet metal, tile setting, painting, and roof maintenance; soldering and welding as needed; ensures safety and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications and hospital codes. Duties include servicing hospital equipment and systems, checking lighting and power, installing or replacing fixtures, maintaining inventory, handling hazardous materials, and participating in snow removal. Requires ability to read diagrams and manuals, work night shifts, and collaborate with co-workers on projects related to Plant operations. Strong practical skills across multiple building trades and a commitment to quality and safety are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of building maintenance
- On the job training in one or more building trades
