General Maintenance Worker

Job Summary
Conduct routine maintenance, repair, and construction tasks on machinery, buildings, structures, utility systems, roads, and drainage facilities. Load, transport, and unload materials and equipment while safely operating assigned maintenance vehicles when required. Perform minor maintenance and cleaning activities for tools, maintain a clean work area, and participate in safety and quality control programs. Work independently or under general supervision on indoor and outdoor assignments involving carpentry, mechanical repair, electrical, plumbing, welding, and excavation. Requires 3+ years of verifiable experience in building or facility maintenance, ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, and occasional overnight stays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable work experience in building, facility, machinery maintenance, or construction trades
- Operation of small construction equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to use and operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in facilities and equipment maintenance, repair, and light construction
- Strong knowledge of general building and site maintenance repair techniques, standards, and processes
- Strong mechanical aptitude and thinking skills
- Planning and organizing skills to effectively prioritize and plan work activities
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to demonstrate overall safe work behavior; including the utilization of proper safety equipment and adhering to safety guidelines
- Frequent walking and standing
- Heavy Work; Exerting up to 100 pounds for force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Good manual dexterity and frequent use of power and hand tools
- Frequently lifts/carries up to 20 pounds with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
- Dexterity and frequent use of power and hand tools
- Frequent balancing, kneeling, reaching (full range), bending, handling, feeling, climbing, smelling, twisting, crawling and reaching; working in cramped and confined spaces
- Vision, speech, smell and hearing sufficient to perform essential tasks
- Some field travel
- Occasional overtime
- Occasional overnight stays
- Required to successfully complete background check, MVR, and drug/alcohol screenings
