General Maintenance Worker

Job Summary
Perform comprehensive building repairs and maintenance across district structures and facilities, including sheetrock patching, painting, electrical and plumbing repairs, preventive maintenance, grounds upkeep, and safe operation of tools and equipment. Responsibilities include inspecting interiors/exteriors and playground areas, reporting major repairs, moving/installing furniture and playground equipment, adhering to safety procedures, and completing work orders under supervision. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Texas driver’s license, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions along with basic construction and maintenance knowledge; 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clear and valid Texas driver’s license
- 5 years’ experience in general building maintenance preferred
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Knowledge of basic construction, electrical, plumbing, and routine maintenance and repair procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbally)
- Ability to operate hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently
