General Maintenance Worker

Job Summary
Perform repairs and maintenance on lab equipment, grounds machinery, pumps, low voltage electrical systems, and HVAC components. Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot control systems, and install compressors, motors, and circuit boards. Execute monthly and annual inspections for emergency lights and all Emergency Showers/Eyewash Stations. Interact with building users while utilizing safety practices to maintain a clean work environment. Provide common hand tools as needed and perform other duties as assigned. Requires a high school diploma, three years of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience, and DOE Q-level clearance.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- Minimum three (3) years of mechanical and electrical maintenance helper experience within past three years
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q-level clearance
- Proficiency using personal computer and internet service
- Proficiency using word processing
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word
- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Close vision
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of technical school or comparable training such as military and industry programs
