Job Summary
Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment, HVAC systems, pumps, and low voltage electrical components. Perform repairs on door systems, install compressors, motors, and circuit boards, and troubleshoot control systems. Conduct monthly and annual inspections of emergency lights and all emergency showers and eyewash stations. Interact with building users while maintaining a safe work environment using established safety practices. Provide common hand tools and perform other duties as assigned. Requires Department of Energy Q-level clearance and three years of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- Minimum three (3) years of mechanical and electrical maintenance helper experience within past three years
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q-level clearance
- Proficiency using personal computer and internet service
- Proficiency using word processing
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word
- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Close vision
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of technical school or comparable training such as military and industry programs
