General Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Perform various building maintenance tasks including minor repairs, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and locksmithing to ensure site upkeep in a GMP-compliant manner. Plan, execute, and oversee minor construction jobs while completing daily site rounds to repair or report deficiencies. Convert notifications to work orders in SAP, document all tasks, and prepare weekly reports on completed and open work orders. Assist subcontractors, maintain minimal supply stock, and communicate delays or deviations to customers and management. Read blueprints and specifications to meet regulatory requirements while adhering to safety, ethics, and quality policies.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma
- Ontario Ministry of Labour licensing in an applicable discipline (carpentry, plumber, etc.) or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Skilled in both verbal and written communication
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Proven ability to work as self-starter and handle multiple tasks
- Experience in general building maintenance
- Be able to read blueprints, sketches and specifications in order to repair, maintain or install to meet requirements
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience of facility maintenance, repair and construction work in food and pharmaceutical industry
Desired Qualifications
- Basic computer literacy with Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with SAP preferred
- Experience in general building maintenance, repair and construction work in food and pharmaceutical industry
