Job Summary
Maintenance Technician role responsible for HVAC, electrical, and mechanical maintenance, general labor, grounds care, event set-ups, and property upkeep at Gilmour Academy. Requires vocational training in electrical/mechanical technology and a minimum of four years of practical experience. Must demonstrate active listening and problem-solving skills, ensure timely and correct service requests, operate maintenance equipment safely, and maintain constructive public relations with staff, students, parents, and the public. Must climb ladders/scaffolds, lift up to 80 pounds, work outdoors in various weather, and comply with OSHA standards. Rotating weekend coverage is required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Valid Ohio driver�s license
- Background check through the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation fingerprint report per state law
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
- Experience in HVAC, electrical, and mechanical areas of facilities management (minimum four years)
- Proficiency with hand tools and equipment
- Ability to operate vehicles and maintenance equipment safely
- Excellent work ethic and ability to work independently
- Professional interaction with staff, students, parents, and the public
- Follows state and local building regulations and OSHA safety standards
