Job Summary
General Maintenance Technician responsible for on-site maintenance across rental units, offices, and grounds, performing upkeep and repair of building structures and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and sanitary systems; tasks include responding to service calls, installing and connecting appliances (stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers), material handling (loading/unloading, moving supplies with wheelbarrows/hand trucks), repairing window/door components, excavations and grading, tile and drywall removal, roof/top cleaning, on-call after-hours repairs, and accurate maintenance of work orders and paperwork; requires basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical skills, a valid driver’s license, English literacy, and customer-service oriented communication; position located at a federal facility with REAL ID requirements for access.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- A current driver's license in good standing
- A REAL ID compliant driver's license/ID required to access federal facility
- Basic competency in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades
- Ability to provide basic tools and equipment
- Basic familiarity with computers and tablets
- Sharp customer service skills
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work
