Job Summary
General Maintenance Technician at a federal facility in Fort Hunter Ligget (Jolon, CA) responsible for maintenance of rental units, office buildings, residential areas, grounds, and parking lots. Perform repairs and installations on building structures and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sanitary systems and equipment. Respond to service calls, complete occupancy-maintenance tasks, transport and install appliances, move materials, repair windows/doors, perform grounds work, and support on-call emergencies. Maintain records, communicate with supervisor, and uphold safety and compliance standards. Position includes a Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM–5:00 PM) with an on-call rotation every other week; REAL ID driver’s license/ID required for access to the federal facility.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Less than 1-3 years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in carpentry, electrical, flooring or appliances
- A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet driving records standards
- Basic competency in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades
- Ability to provide basic tools and equipment necessary to perform daily duties
- Basic familiarity with computers and web-based applications
- Sharp customer service skills
- Ability to read and write in English, in order to understand basic instructions and take direction from supervisors
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work
- REAL ID compliant driver's license/ID required to access federal facility
