Job Summary
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on cranes, hoists, and other weight-handling equipment; inspect, test, and certify equipment; diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical failures; conduct equipment operations and rigging; prepare written specifications for major repairs or new parts; reassemble and adjust equipment; study tasks to determine procedures, tools, and materials; troubleshoot using blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical documentation; perform electrical installations and circuit troubleshooting (AC/DC, radio-controlled systems); repair or replace gearboxes, relays, motors, and switchgear; conduct basic arc welding; communicate with supervisors, engineers, and production staff to coordinate maintenance needs; maintain safe, organized work areas and comply with safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- 5–10 years of experience as a maintenance or mechanical technician
- Strong background in cranes, overhead hoists, and mobile/heavy equipment maintenance
- Proficient in reading hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic schematics and technical manuals
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement tools
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid Washington State Driver's License with clean record; CDL preferred
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
