General Maintenance Tech

Job Summary
Prioritize work orders, handle urgent requests, and complete reactive maintenance procedures across campus facilities. Execute daily tasks including power washing, garbage pickup, snow and ice removal, and moving materials or furniture as directed. Assist specialized technicians and support the preparation, setup, and cleanup of special events on campus. This full-time role within Campus Enhancement Services requires operating inside and outside in varying weather conditions, with hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Candidates must possess good mechanical skills, a clean driving record, and the ability to organize work amidst frequent interruptions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- Clean driving record
- Exceptional driving and maneuvering skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize and problem solve with frequent interruptions
- Good mechanical skills to handle equipment to avoid causing injuries to self and/or others
- Ability to evaluate computer-related work orders and complete them timely and accurately
- Affirm an understanding of, and willingness not to advocate contrary to, the Baptist Faith & Message 2000
- Affirm understanding of, and willingness not to advocate contrary to, the University's Statement on Human Flourishing
- Active in a biblically faithful, evangelical church, preferably one affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention
- Agree to abide by the employee handbooks, including community standards agreements
- Willingness to work night(s), weekend(s) and holiday(s)
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions, including exposure to extreme temperatures
