Job Summary
Carpenter/Roofer/General Maintenance Employee performs carpentry, glazing, roofing, and related maintenance for the Putnam County Schools system. Responsibilities include carrying out general carpentry tasks, installing, repairing and maintaining roofs, gutters, flashing, and duct work for heating and ventilation; repairing and replacing roofing as well as minor repairs to equipment and buildings; responding to emergency situations; inspecting and maintaining safety and roof conditions; and assisting skilled maintenance staff with miscellaneous duties as assigned. Requires CDL Class A and holding or qualifying for Carpenter, Glazier, and General Maintenance classifications. Effective employment date TBD; 261 days length of employment with salary based on experience and education level per county salary schedule; benefits include PEIA insurance, retirement, life insurance, and vision/dental coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a high school diploma or GED
- Holds “Carpenter”, “Glazier” and “General Maintenance” classifications
- Verified work experience as a carpenter and glazier
- Holds or qualifies for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A
