Job Summary
Inspect and identify equipment needing repair, then troubleshoot issues to determine necessary fixes. Perform general repairs including plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and HVAC systems without specialized technician involvement. Maintain physical space by ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment while following safety standards. Manage work order requests to ensure quick resolution, order supplies, and move furniture or equipment as needed. Apply for environmental permits and complete required training. Prioritize projects with strong problem-solving skills to support behavioral health services for marginalized individuals in the District of Columbia.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree or equivalent
- 2+ years direct experience in Maintenance or Facilities support
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools
- Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with all levels of colleagues, clients, and external contacts
- Ability to prioritize projects and strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of operating standard office equipment
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repairs
