Job Summary
Complete assigned preventive maintenance tasks, repair and maintenance work orders, and handle fire alarm/life safety system emergencies. Monitor energy and utilities usage to identify conservation opportunities, while managing inventory and procurement of parts. Log daily activities, track meter readings, and facilitate daily briefing sessions regarding priorities and problem-solving. Ensure safety by conducting job safety analysis and correcting hazardous conditions immediately. Maintain neatness in the engineering shop and all areas under departmental control.
Required Qualifications
- previous experience in the performance of hotel or similar facility maintenance tasks in the plumbing, electrical, and equipment repair and maintenance fields
- Familiarity with small appliance repairs
- plumbing fixture repairs
- simple electrical troubleshooting and repairs
- Knowledge of environmental control in guest meeting spaces
- Strong customer service skills
- The ability to accurately maintain records of assigned tasks and follow up with engineering management to schedule and complete tasks
- High school diploma or GED plus 2 years technical training or 2 -4 years of college
- At least 2 years of relevant experience and/or training
- Must have an unexpired and valid driver's license with no recent violations
- Availability to work on weekends, holidays and day or night shift
- Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges
- Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs
- Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity
Desired Qualifications
- Strong HVAC experience a plus
- Previous experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC-R, and kitchen equipment
