Job Summary
Assist skilled workers with repair and maintenance of district facilities, including woodwork, electrical systems, plumbing fixtures, and grounds. Inspect building exteriors, interiors, playground equipment, and grounds for minor repairs, then detect and report needed major repairs on structures and systems. Complete repairs as requested on work orders or by maintenance foreman, while operating light trucks to transport furniture and equipment. Hang pictures, mirrors, and bulletin boards; install door and window assemblies; and move, install, and assemble school furniture and playground equipment. Follow established safety procedures, correct unsafe conditions, and maintain tools and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbally)
- Ability to operate hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently
- Must 21 + years of Age
- One year experience in general building maintenance
