Job Summary
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all plant machinery, equipment, building, and grounds. Execute mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repair, and failure diagnostics to reduce machine downtimes. Conduct various welding and pipefitting work while reading electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams. Install and maintain equipment, tanks, reactors, machinery, motors, drives, conveyors, switches, bearings, and electrical systems. Carry out and improve PM inspections and machinery knowledge database support. Fabricate and install special equipment as needed. Follow prescribed 5-S policies, including workplace cleanliness and safety requirements. Develop knowledge of processing equipment to train operators and write procedures.
Required Qualifications
- high level working knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repair, and failure diagnostics
- various welding and pipefitting work
- ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams
- ability to use basic sketches to convey ideas
- working knowledge of basic shop tools and machinery
- ability to properly use and direct the use of welders, oxy-acetylene torch, band saws, drill press, and hand tools
- knowledge of processing equipment
- ability to train operators
- ability to write procedures
- ability to diagnose problems
- ability to install and maintain equipment, tanks, reactors, machinery, motors, drives, conveyors, switches, bearings, and electrical systems
- ability to perform and improve PM inspections
