Job Summary
Investigate, evaluate, reserve, and resolve assigned General Liability Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims under general supervision. Directly handle severity claims by interviewing witnesses, obtaining statements, and conducting outside investigations to determine liability, damages, and contribution potential. Establish indemnity and expense reserves, negotiate dispositions with insureds or legal representatives, and manage litigated claims including discovery, depositions, and trial strategy. Provide consulting and training resources to the field, mentor less experienced professionals, and actively share creative resolution techniques to improve claim results. This role offers a hybrid schedule with up to two days per week at the primary residence and includes a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 4 years bodily injury litigation claim handling experience
- Advanced level knowledge in coverage, liability and damages analysis
- Thorough understanding of the litigation process
- Relevant case and statutory law knowledge
- Expert litigation management skills
- Extensive claim and/or legal experience
- Technical expertise to evaluate severe and complex claims
- Ability to make independent decisions on most assigned cases without involvement of supervisor
- Thorough understanding of business line products
- Understanding of policy language, exclusions, ISO forms, and effective claims handling practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technology aptitude
