Job Summary
Lead approximately seven General Liability Litigation Claim Handlers by managing claim inventories, training staff, and directing investigations, liability determinations, and settlements in compliance with corporate policies. Serve as a technical resource for the team while evaluating performance and implementing change to align with business goals. This role requires prior high-exposure general liability and litigation experience, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of coverage forms and risk transfer. Candidates must possess excellent communication abilities to partner with agents, brokers, and sales teams. The position offers a hybrid or remote arrangement, with office-based candidates working three days a week in Hartford, CT, or other regional locations.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to partner with internal and external customers inclusive of Agents, Brokers, Sales and Product
- Experience with human resource policies and procedures and administration of the same
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written regardless of audience demographic
- Ability to effectively analyze General Liability and/or personal lines coverage forms
- Experience in leading and managing all levels of staff relative to experience, tenure and professional development
- Prior high exposure general liability claims, and litigation experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of contracts and contractual indemnification
- In-depth understanding of coverage and risk transfer heading toward the development of a strong coverage acumen
- College degree preferred
- Prior management experience strongly preferred
- CPCU, AIC, SCLA or other professional designation, or working toward such designation preferred
- High speed broadband internet service is required
- Internet provider supplied modem/router/gateway is hardwired to the Hartford issued computer with an ethernet cable
- Minimum upload/download speeds of 5Mbps/30Mbps will be required
Desired Qualifications

- College degree preferred
- Prior management experience strongly preferred
- CPCU, AIC, SCLA or other professional designation, or working toward such designation preferred
