General Ledger Specialist

Job Summary
General Ledger Specialist (Mid-Level) is responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual closes for the Mexico region; prepare and review general ledger journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments; execute balance sheet account reconciliations; analyze variances and provide explanations to management; support IFRS reporting; ensure internal controls and policies; actively support audit processes; collaborate with Accounts Payable/Receivable and Controllership; work with local stakeholders in Mexico to resolve accounting issues; drive process improvements within the SSC environment; utilize SAP FI for accounting activities and ensure data integrity; deliver timely closes and accurate financial statements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in General Ledger or Record-to-Report (R2R) processes
- Experience in a Shared Service Center environment is highly preferred
- Experience supporting Mexico operations is a plus
- English level: B2 Required
- Spanish: Fluent (required)
- Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
- Advanced experience in SAP (FI module required; MM/SD integration desirable)
- Solid understanding of financial close processes
- Account reconciliations
- Financial statement analysis
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
