General Ledger Accountant

Job Summary
Own core GL activities—journal entries, month-end close, and reconciliations—to ensure accurate, timely financial statements and strong balance-sheet hygiene. Partner with AP on invoice flow and coding quality; review T&E policy compliance; prepare quarterly commission statements; educate teams on purchasing/AP/cash-disbursement policies; support external audits and respond to internal inquiries with ad-hoc reporting. Proactively communicate with stakeholders to surface issues and close the loop on resolutions. Requires Associate’s/Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field and 2-5+ years of GL accounting experience; strong Excel proficiency; familiarity with Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, Sage or Advantage is a plus. In-office at The Lockwood Group headquarters in Stamford, CT.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's in Accounting, Business, or related field
- 2-5+ years General Ledger accounting experience
- Excel proficiency (lookups, pivots, formulas); familiarity with Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, Sage or Advantage a plus
