Job Summary
Sort and separate non-ferrous materials, cut scrap to size, and package it for shipment. Inspect items to ensure quality and safety standards are met. Operate hand tools and equipment like forklifts and stationary balers to process metal. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety policies. Support equipment operators and drivers with daily yard activities. Perform physical tasks including lifting, shoveling, and moving heavy containers. Complete safety documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Work Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm with alternating Saturdays as required.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving containers and other heavy materials
- Fit-for-Work each day
- Basic comprehension and ability to follow SECURE's Workplace Health and Safety requirements relevant to the assigned work site, including but not limited to SECURE's safety and hazard assessment process
- Ability to complete safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner
Desired Qualifications
- General labouring and or farm experience
- Experience working with metals
- Familiarity with operating and servicing small equipment such as forklifts, skid steer, cut off saws, stationary baler
