Job Summary
Unload materials from customer vehicles, sort ferrous and nonferrous materials, and assist in packaging them into bales, super sacks, boxes, or pallets. Clean customer equipment, baskets, and bins, while maintaining a clean and organized facility both indoors and outdoors. Operate assigned hand tools and machines safely, perform routine area inspections, and complete paperwork, tally sheets, and production tickets. Work full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 4:00pm, with occasional weekend and overtime work as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Able to read and write in English
- Must be able to push, pull or carry up to thirty pounds
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
- Must be able to utilize hand tools and operator controls
- Must be able to talk or hear
- Frequently required to stand; kneel; squat; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
- Knowledgeable and safe operation of assigned work area
- Highly knowledgeable in metal recognition (type, grade)
- Follows, uses, implements and strives for deeper understanding of WSR 11 Rules of The Road
- Attend and participate in safety and operations meetings as directed
- Report any injury or damage of any kind to the supervisor immediately
- Assist in performing routine inspections of work area as per instructions
- Safely operate all assigned hand tools and machines according to company safety standards and instructions as well as manufacturer's guidelines
- Manually unload materials from customer vehicles
- Assist Supervisors with accurate, complete, legible, and timely completion of paperwork, tally sheets, production tickets, and/or reports
- Sort material properly and timely for shipment preparation
- Cleaning/maintaining of customer assigned equipment
- Cleaning/maintaining of facility/property
- Material expert of material processed in station
- Responsible for quality control
- Responsible for packing quality control
- Safe operation of the assigned area
- Full-time (40 hours per week) position, Monday through Friday in the hours of 7:00am to 4:00pm
- Overtime hours during the week as needed
- Weekend work on an as needed basis
- This role operates in both an indoor and outdoor environment
- The employee is also exposed to weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, high winds and dusty or muddy areas depending on assignment
- The employee is at times exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
- The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions
- The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud
