Job Summary
We are hiring an entry-level Field Technician to train as a Locator to locate underground utilities, read maps and blueprints, and mark locations using paint/flags. The role emphasizes safety, independence, problem-solving, and on-the-job training with 100% paid training. Responsibilities include using locate equipment, documenting tickets via laptop, interpreting maps/blueprints, and communicating with peers, managers, and homeowners. The position operates outdoors in all weather, may require flexible scheduling including evenings/weekends, and involves on-call shifts; company-provided vehicle for home use at night; benefits include PTO, paid holidays, safety-shoe vouchers, and 401(k) with company match.
Required Qualifications
- Eighteen years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day 2-3 times a week
- Ability to carry up to 5 lbs of electronic locating equipment for extended periods of time; lifting objects up to 25 lbs or lifting in excess of 75 lbs with tool aids
- Pass pre-employment background and drug screening
