Job Summary
Entry-level Utility Locating Technician to locate underground utilities, troubleshoot, and mark the ground using paint and flags. On-the-job training is provided. Requires outdoor work in all weather, ability to work independently, and problem-solving with speed and accuracy. Responsibilities include reading maps and blueprints, using locate equipment to accurately find utilities, documenting tickets with a laptop, and communicating effectively with peers, managers, and homeowners. Includes a company vehicle for daily use, paid PTO and holidays, safety shoe vouchers, and a 401(k) with company match. Flexible schedule with possible evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Eighteen years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record
- Pass pre-employment background and drug screening
- Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day 2-3 times a week
- Ability to carry up to 5 lbs of electronic locating equipment for extended periods of time; lifting objects up to 25 lbs or lifting in excess of 75 lbs with tool aids
