Job Summary
Entry-level Utility Locating Technician to locate underground utilities, read maps and blueprints, and determine the best method and sequence for locating using provided locate equipment. Training provided on the job with 100% paid training; must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather, able to problem-solve with speed and accuracy, and communicate effectively with peers, managers, and homeowners. Responsibilities include using a laptop to receive, document and process tickets, and to document work. Role requires ability to walk up to 5 miles daily (2-3 times a week), carry up to 5 lbs of locating equipment (lifting up to 25 lbs or up to 75 lbs with tool aids), and pass pre-employment background and drug screening. Schedule may include evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays; emergency on-call rotation. PTO and paid holidays, safety shoes vouchers, 401(k) with company match provided.
Required Qualifications
- Eighteen years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day 2-3 times a week.
- Ability to carry up to 5 lbs of electronic locating equipment for extended periods of time; lifting objects up to 25 lbs or lifting in excess of 75 lbs with tool aids.
- Pass pre-employment background and drug screening.
