Job Summary
General Laborer role at Smurfit WestRock in Las Vegas, NV. Key duties include inspecting rolls and performing quality checks, maintaining clean work areas, helping reduce plant waste by monitoring web and making corrections, performing pre-make ready and make ready activities, inspecting printing decks for quality and productivity, staging materials for upcoming jobs, collaborating with management, quality, and operators, contributing improvement ideas, cleaning plates and inspecting aniloxes, assisting with inventory and mounting/troubleshooting mounting machines, entering data into the Kiwi system and printing tickets, operating safety equipment and vehicles (Zamboni, forklift, clamp trucks) with daily inspections, and participating in all safety activities. Requires experience with PIT and/or overhead cranes, ability to work alone or in a team, basic computer skills, strong communication, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts with attendance and flexibility to cover other shifts. Required Qualifications
- Experience operating P.I.T. and/or overhead cranes
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts (days and/or nights)
- Good attendance
- Willing to cover other shifts as needed
- Ability to interpret written/verbal/diagram/scheduled instructions
- Capable of performing all essential functions with/without reasonable accommodation
