Job Summary
Harvest core materials and dismantle engines, transmissions, and tires in accordance with prescribed procedures to produce sellable parts. Safely remove hazardous fluids, batteries, and debris while maintaining crush pad work areas and environmental compliance. Operate the tire machine to separate rubber from wheels and prepare rims for shipment. Position vehicles on wheel stands to enable customer part access and restore surrounding areas after each set. Collaborate with safety buddies, wear assigned PPE, and address hazards within the customer area. Perform additional duties as assigned while adhering to all company policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, including the comprehension of basic safety messages, labels, and hazard communications such as waste oil, gasoline, and flammable materials.
- Ability to work required hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to work effectively in a variety of outdoor weather conditions, including rain, snow, extreme heat, and cold, for the duration of a full shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stretch regularly throughout the assigned work shift.
- Manual dexterity to handle tools, operate equipment, and maintain facility cleanliness.
- The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Sufficient vision to safely perform all job functions.
- 18 years of age or older
- Must pass a post-offer drug screen and background check
- Must review and sign an Arbitration Agreement
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments within an auto salvage yard setting
- Must be able to handle exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, automotive fluids, and noise
- Must be able to adhere to safety protocols and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Must be able to collaborate with a safety buddy
- Must be able to wear assigned PPE correctly and consistently whenever it's required
- Must be able to uphold all company policies and procedures
- Must be able to maintain a safety-minded approach
- Must be able to promote the Pick-n-Pull Safety Culture
- Must be able to assist customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Must be able to maintain a consistently diligent, cooperative, and professional demeanor
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in automotive repair, vehicle dismantling, or the operation of tools and machinery
- Familiarity with automotive parts
- Experience working with retail customers
