Job Summary
Conduct safe vehicle dismantling and parts extraction in an outdoor auto salvage yard, handling fluids, tires, and engines while maintaining crush pad work areas. Operate tire machines to separate rubber and prepare rims for shipment, then remove debris and address safety hazards within the customer zone. Collaborate with safety buddies to uphold Pick-n-Pull Safety Culture protocols and assist customers with part pulls. Prepare Gaylord boxes and pallets for shipment, complete regulatory logs, and maintain stormwater control devices. Perform additional duties as assigned, including weekend and holiday coverage in variable weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, including the comprehension of basic safety messages, labels, and hazard communications such as waste oil, gasoline, and flammable materials.
- Ability to work required hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to work effectively in a variety of outdoor weather conditions, including rain, snow, extreme heat, and cold, for the duration of a full shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stretch regularly throughout the assigned work shift.
- Manual dexterity to handle tools, operate equipment, and maintain facility cleanliness.
- The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Sufficient vision to safely perform all job functions.
- All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
- Adherence to safety requirements and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to uphold all company policies and procedures with a consistently diligent, cooperative, and professional demeanor.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in automotive repair, vehicle dismantling, or the operation of tools and machinery, as well as familiarity with automotive parts and/or working with retail customers.
