Job Summary
Conduct hazardous waste clean-up, site-remediation, and equipment decontamination while operating light and heavy equipment and handling various hand tools. Wear and properly use personal protective equipment including respirators, skin, face, hand, and foot protection in multiple combinations. Perform field sampling activities, calibrate meters, and inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance. Safely load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste, operate vehicles per DOT requirements, and climb ladders, scaffolding, and into trucks, tanks, and containers. Work extended periods in various temperatures, elevated noise levels, and confined spaces, adhering to all local, state, and federal compliance regulations. Attend compliance and safety update meetings and maintain health and safety as the primary goal. On-call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week, with potential weekend and holiday work. Complete two weeks of Academy training out of state with expenses covered by the company.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Previous relevant labor experience
- Ability to perform physical functions per Key Responsibilities
- Ability to be on-call for emergency response on rotating basis every other week
- Agreeing to be on-call
- Working on weekends and holidays
- Emergency response situations extending beyond 8 hours, up to 12-24 hrs
- Successfully complete a background check
- Successfully complete a drug test
- Successfully complete a physical
- Meet facial hair standards per OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.34
