General Laborer

Job Summary
Conduct daily duties on bridge, structural heavy civil, and highway construction projects, including measuring distances, bolting forms, leveling earth, mixing and finishing concrete, and erecting scaffolding. Execute paving tasks such as operating vibratory plates, shoveling asphalt, and using paving lutes, while performing pipe duties like backfilling, cutting sections, shooting grades with lasers, and connecting pipe work. Adhere strictly to OSHA and H&K safety policies, acquire necessary tools, and fit test appropriate PPE. This role supports the Pottstown Division's heavy civil contracting solutions across Northeast PA and the Leigh Valley.
Required Qualifications
- One month of related experience and/or training
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Mathematical skills including ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Problem solving
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision requirements include distance, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
