Job Summary
General Laborer on construction projects in Ft. Meade, MD or Harrisburg, PA, performing duties across multiple tasks such as measuring distances from grade stakes, setting up forms, bolting/nailing/aligning components, signaling equipment operators, leveling earth, mixing and finishing concrete, pipe work, scaffolding, shoring, and paving-related tasks. Role involves assisting with pre-run markings, operating a vibratory plate, shoveling asphalt, directing traffic around work areas, and preparing daily job setups. Requires OSHA and safety compliance, ability to read and follow written/oral instructions, strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in outdoor conditions. Experience in heavy civil construction, and OSHA safety certifications are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- One month of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent experience and education may be considered
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
