Job Summary
Operate sanitation trucks, remove debris and trash from alleys and streets, and perform manual labor for maintenance, repair, and minor construction of streets, water mains, parks, and sprinkler systems. Load and unload equipment, check tires, oil, and fuel, maintain grounds around public buildings, and inspect operating conditions while preparing minimal activity records. Duties involve difficult physical work requiring continuous crawling, climbing, and lifting heavy weights, often performed in noise, pollution, heat, cold, and dampness with exposure to hazards and infectious wastes. Requires a valid Driver's License and high school equivalency. Full-time 40-hour position with health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to lift heavy weights (50# and up)
- Ability to crawl, climb, and lift frequently
- Ability to work in undesirable physical conditions (noise, pollution, heat, cold, dampness)
- Ability to be exposed to hazards and infectious wastes
- Ability to use proper safety equipment and procedures
- Common courtesy when relaying information
- Pre-Employment Drug testing acceptance
- Background Check acceptance
