Job Summary
Perform general labor duties on asphalt paving and/or grading crews, including acting as designated spotter for trucks and equipment. Tasks include shoveling asphalt, stone, or dirt; using tools such as shovel, rake, lute, broom, pick, hammer, saw, pneumatic hammer, drill, tamp and concrete saw; may operate a farm-type tractor with power broom attachment; training will be conducted for spotter duties. Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 100 pounds), and the propensity to work long hours including weekends and some nights, with exposure to extreme temperatures. Must be willing to learn multiple tasks, follow strict safety rules, and maintain good attendance. NC driver’s license encouraged. Company offers comprehensive benefits and values-driven culture. Required Qualifications
- One year experience
- Encourage a valid NC Drivers License
- Willingness to learn multiple task
- Ability to abide by precise instructions and strict safety rules and policies
- Maintain a good attendance and safety record
- Ability to work weekends and some nights
- Tasks require standing, walking, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching and squatting
- Regular lifting of 25 pounds and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Extreme temperatures may be faced
- Driving company vehicle guidelines must be met if required
- Job requires riding to and from work
