Job Summary
General Labor role focused on unloading pallets and handling diverse materials, including sorting, packing, disassembling small equipment, and operating or assisting with recycling/processing tasks in a scrap metal yard. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and safety, directing yard vehicle traffic, organizing materials for efficient space use, providing basic maintenance and equipment support, and complying with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Candidate should have basic math and communication skills, be able to work with PPE, and may benefit from bilingual English/Spanish abilities.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass a medical physical and drug test
- Must pass a background check
- Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable
- Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus
- Ability to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands
- Willingness to learn how to: sort metal, identify colors, shapes, and weights; properly maintain equipment; properly utilize PPE
