Job Summary
Unload pallets, boxes, and bundles; handle, sort, and push materials while filling hoppers and conveyor belts. Unpack packaging, disassemble equipment, cut wires, and torque pipe fittings. Operate metal shears, band saws, and wire strippers for recycling metal products. Direct yard vehicle traffic and perform light facility maintenance, including painting and moving furniture. Maintain machinery by selecting tools and installing parts, while sweeping, cleaning, and shoveling debris. Organize materials for space efficiency and dispose of waste in appropriate manners. Ensure work areas remain neat, orderly, and safe through ongoing housekeeping and inspection.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass a medical physical and drug test
- Must pass a background check
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable
- Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus
- Ability to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands
- Willingness to learn how to: sort metal, identify colors, shapes, and weights; properly maintain equipment; properly utilize PPE
