Job Summary
General Labor role responsible for preparation of flowers and other plants for shipping and sale. Tasks include planting, cultivating, and maintaining nursery seedlings and plants (perennials, bedding plants, plugs, liners, vegetable plants, hanging baskets), potting seedlings, organizing product on docks, loading/unloading trucks, assembling orders, installing/maintaining irrigation systems, and maintaining cleanliness and safety. Requires lifting up to 20 lbs, pushing/pulling carts up to 200 lbs, working in varying temperatures, Saturday availability during peak season, reliable transportation, and passing a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Required Qualifications
- Must have at least 3 months of nursery/manufacturing experience
- Must be at least 18 yrs. old
- Must be able to perform manual tasks with accuracy and efficiency
- Lift items/products up to 20lbs
- Push/pull carts up to 200lbs
- Use hand tools including shovels, shears, and clippers
- Follow verbal and written direction
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and climb
- Have flexibility to work Saturdays (peak season)
- Have good attendance
- Have a positive attitude/be willing to work
- Work in various temperatures
- Able to work at a fast pace with long periods of standing and bending/sitting
- Must adhere to safety policies and procedures
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Must have availability to work additional hours as dictated by schedule
