Job Summary
Perform tasks in all production areas including plant sanitation, palletizing, packing, sweeping, and washing bins while working near running machinery. Report to work areas on time, observe safety practices, and immediately inform supervisors of machinery issues or product specification errors. Stack and palletize finished cases, identify misprints, and communicate findings to operators. Sweep production areas, remove trash, and suggest changes to improve working conditions and efficiency. Comply with all GMP, Food Safety, and regulatory standards, including Setton Pistachio's Food Safety Management System. Work with Production Department leads and Maintenance to ensure food safety, return tools at shift end, and adhere to physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.) or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
- Strong ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, company policy, handbook and all instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Willingness to abide and grasp the understanding of all safety protocols
- Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks
- Must have the ability to work together as a team to produce the highest quality products in the most efficient manner
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and sit or be in other physically demanding positions for long periods of time
- Knowledge of Setton Pistachio's Food Safety Management System and its application in a processing environment
- Compliance with all GMP, Food Safety, and General Safety rules and regulations
- Compliance with local, state, federal, and corporate food safety regulatory standards as well as company quality standards provided by facility, regional, and corporate quality authorities
- Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices while performing their assigned duties
- May require flexibility in shifts, hours and days of the workweek. Some overtime may be required during high sales volumes
