Job Summary
Locate cables to ensure construction occurs without disrupting service, plow in cable, drop new and improved service, and perform preventative maintenance on machinery. Operate a cable plow, trenching machine, and boring unit while tracking buried cables and reading maps. Prepare tools and materials, develop preventive vehicle maintenance checklists, and maintain right-of-way by restoring disturbed surfaces. Requires heavy labor digging, lifting, and working in all weather conditions. Valid Oklahoma or Texas driver's license with a clean driving record is required. High school diploma or equivalent preferred with 2-3 years of construction experience.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions
- Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change
- Ability to complete work accurately under time constraints and deadlines
- Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must be able to lift/carry at least 50 pounds
- Must be able to work any shift assigned, which may include overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays
- Customer service and customer relations skills
- Problem solving, analytical and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Company policies, procedures, products, and services
- Possess a valid Oklahoma/Texas Driver's License in addition to a Safe Driving Record
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of construction experience preferable
- Candidates must be willing to submit to a background check as part of a conditional offer
