Job Summary
Feed pork bellies into the slicer, stack boxes on pallets, and package sliced bacon into bulk or vacuum packages. Assist the Sanitation department by cleaning offices, washing hooks and combs, sweeping floors, and organizing freezer rooms. Maintain production areas by picking up trash, emptying trash/cardboard combos, washing down machines, and hanging plastic supplies. Rotate jobs according to the department schedule and ensure all tasks meet USDA, Tyson, and customer regulations. This entry-level role requires the ability to lift up to 70 lbs and may involve operating scissor lifts, pallet jacks, or forklifts upon certification. All shifts are available at this Vernon, TX location.
Required Qualifications
- Must be willing to become certified in scissor lift, pallet jack, and forklift if needed
- Must be willing and able to meet all USDA, Tyson, and customer regulations
- Must be willing and able to rotate jobs according to department schedule
- Must be willing and able to lift, push, pull 10 to 70 lbs
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to lift upto 70 lbs
- Must be able to lift pork bellies weighing from 10 to 22 lbs
- Must be able to stack boxes on pallets weighing 10 to 35 lbs
- Must be able to feed pork bellies into the slicer
- Must be able to package sliced bacon into boxes or packages in a bulk or vacuum package
- Must be able to wash hooks and combs and pallets for the processing department
- Must be able to keep the bacon slice lines cleaned by picking up trash and sweeping the floors
- Must be able to keep the freezer room organized and sanitized
- Must be able to clean the floors, pickup pieces off the floors, keep Derind sanitized
- Must be able to keep the trash/cardboard combos emptied out and supply production with empty combos
- Must be able to keep cotton gloves washed and supplied
- Must be able to clean restrooms
- Must be able to wash down machines and equipment as needed
- Must be able to hang plastic where needed
- Must be able to perform the daily tasks and responsibilities of a bacon slice entry level Team Member
- Must be able to perform various sanitation duties
- Must be able to assist the Sanitation department
- Must be able to work in other departments as needed according to production requirements
- Must be able to work ALL SHIFTS
- Must be able to complete the task after submitting the application to provide additional information to be considered for employment
