Job Summary
Handle materials and use hand tools, knives, machinery, and equipment to deliver good food responsibly. Perform physically demanding work requiring good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, strength, and stamina. Stand on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift while working in cold, warm, wet, and humid environments. Work around animal blood and/or carcass parts, climb ladders and walkways, and bend, stoop, and twist repetitively. Wear hard hat, hearing/eye protection, and steel-toed safety shoes in a noisy environment using PPE. Work with sanitation/cleaning chemicals and strong smells/odors. Perform repetitive overhead lifting up to 30 lbs or single lifting of heavy objects weighing up to 60 lbs. Work while following oral and written instructions and may work mandatory overtime depending on production demands.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Willing and able to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to perform a task requiring continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching hands, flexing, and extending arms
- Ability to stand on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift
- Ability to work around animal blood and/or carcass parts
- Ability to work with a knife (if trained)
- Ability to work in cold areas (approximately 20-40 degrees) and/or warm areas (over 100 degrees)
- Ability to work in an environment that is wet and humid
- Ability to work while wearing a hard hat, hearing/eye protection, and steel-toed safety shoes
- Ability to work in a noisy environment using personal protective equipment
- Ability to work with sanitation/cleaning chemicals
- Ability to work around strong smells/odors
- Ability to climb/move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways and platforms
- Ability to bend, stoop, and twist repetitively over the course of an entire shift
- Ability to walk long distances
- Ability to perform repetitive overhead lifting up to 30 lbs
- Ability to perform single lifting of heavy objects which can weigh up to 60 lbs
- Ability to lift objects using mechanical assistance
