Job Summary
Conduct casting, deburring, and cleaning of parts while supporting shop operations as needed. Operate industrial equipment including overhead cranes, furnaces, spin machines, metal melting equipment, and lift trucks. Use air-driven tools such as die grinders, impact wrenches, and needle scalers. Follow instructions from experienced employees to operate machines, hold or supply materials, and load or unload items. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with minimal guidance while maintaining physical stamina for standing 10+ hours on concrete floors. Adhere strictly to safety protocols including wearing steel-toed boots, gloves, and safety glasses. Overtime may be required during peak seasons, with hours potentially reaching 50+ weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to use and operate various air driven tools such as die grinders, impact wrenches, needle scalers
- Ability to operate industrial equipment such as overhead cranes, furnaces, spin machines, metal melting equipment, and lift trucks
- Strong mechanical aptitude with an ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems with minimal guidance
- Physical stamina
- Lifting ability (often up to 50 lbs)
- Strict adherence to safety protocols
- Ability to follow work instructions and directives from leadership
- Ability to hold or supply materials and tools
- Ability to load and unload items from machines
- Overtime availability in peak seasons (Spring and Fall) including weekends
- Availability for 50+ hours weekly
- Ability to stand for 10+ hours on concrete floors
- Ability to work in machine shop and casting ovens
- Ability to work in exposure to loud noises
- Ability to work in exposure to oven temperatures of 475 plus
- Ability to work in exposure to heavy equipment and materials
- Ability to wear Required Preventative protection gear (steel toed boots, glove, safety glasses)
- Ability to pass a preemployment background and drug screen
