Job Summary
Support development and implementation of the facility master plan for a large healthcare campus; provide engineering and technical oversight for infrastructure, renovation, and capital improvement projects; develop project requirements, scopes of work, and technical documentation; perform design reviews across architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and civil disciplines; coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, facility personnel, and stakeholders; prepare conceptual layouts, feasibility studies, and preliminary cost estimates; review drawings/submittals for accuracy and constructability; conduct site assessments and field investigations; monitor construction activities for compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and safety; serve as construction representative; assist with scheduling and budgeting; provide technical recommendations on building systems and healthcare facility operations; maintain records per standards; support emergency response and facility operational needs. Qualifications include ABET-accredited engineering degree or Architecture degree with AIA-recognized qualifications, Real ID, experience in facility-related projects, knowledge of building systems and codes, strong collaboration, and PE/RA helpful but not required, ability to pass background checks. The role is full-time onsite in San Francisco, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program OR degree in Architecture with professional qualifications recognized by AIA standards
- Valid Real ID as a requirement for the position
- Experience in facility engineering, design review, construction administration, or capital improvement projects in commercial, institutional, healthcare, or large campus environments (preferred)
- Knowledge of building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, civil, architectural)
- Ability to review drawings, calculations, specifications for accuracy and compliance
- Knowledge of applicable building codes and life safety standards for healthcare facilities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to coordinate with contractors, consultants, facility staff, and leadership
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and industry-standard design/project management software
- Ability to conduct field inspections and site visits in active healthcare environments
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or Registered Architect (RA) license (helpful but not required)
- Must pass drug test and background check for access to a military installation
