Job Summary
Provide multidisciplinary engineering support for secure facility construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects within the National Capital Region. Review engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for constructability and compliance while performing technical evaluations across mechanical, electrical, civil, and utilities systems. Conduct site walks, inspections, and condition assessments to verify installed systems against approved drawings and document field deficiencies for resolution. Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and government stakeholders on design reviews, technical discussions, and commissioning activities. Maintain accurate engineering documentation and track design changes throughout project execution. Fully onsite work in active construction environments with potential night or evening shifts; requires Secret clearance with Top Secret preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience supporting facilities, infrastructure, or construction, in mission-critical environments
- Experience supporting federal or DoD constructions projects
- Ability to review technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation
- Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, load calculation software, or related engineering/design platforms
- Knowledge of federal construction standards, building systems, and engineering practices
- Experience in one or more engineering areas, including mechanical systems, electrical systems, civil/site infrastructure, structural systems, utilities, HVAC, controls, or building automation
- Ability to maintain discretion and professionalism while handling sensitive information
- Ability to wear required PPE and safely work in operational and active construction environments
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to safely navigate uneven terrain
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Night and/or evening work availability
Desired Qualifications
- Top Secret clearance
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Familiarity with secure facility requirements, SCIF/SAPF environments, ICD/ICS compliance, or related standards
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong coordination and collaboration skills across technical and operational teams
- Ability to work professionally with customers, project team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
